Mondor/Boileau put down by injury

Marie-Christine Mondor wrenched her ankle in the second set in the round of 16 game against China’s Guo Qian and Shen Rongrong who came from one set behind to win the match 2:1 at the 2007 FIVB Beach Volleyball Women's Challenger this morning at the Chaoyang Park in Beijing. The scores of the three sets were 19-21,21-17 and 15-9.
The Canadian duo Anouk Boileau and Marie-Christine Mondor used their quick movement and successful defense to win the first set 21-19.
But the situation turned to another direction in the second set when Mondor made a block and landed on Shen Rongrong’s foot. Mondor returned to the game after a short-time treatment, only to find the Chinese control the pace and win 21-15.
Mondor’s injury availed the Chinese pair to keep on in the final set as they triumphed at 15-10 to enter the quarterfinals.
