The semiquarter finals of the 2007 FIVB Beach Volleyball Women's Challenger began at 9:00 a.m. August 16. In the second match, two Chinese pairs: Zhang Ying/Ji Linjun and Lin Xianling/Lin Donghe met. As a result, No.1 seed Zhang Ying/Ji Linjun beat their teammates 2:1 with the score of 21-23, 21-17 and 15-9.

Though having entered the quarterfinals with a reverse victory, Zhang/Ji appeared unsatisfied with the process of the match. After going out of the court, Ji shook her head and said, "We did not play well in this match and were indecisive in ball handling. Despite a victory, we are not satisfied with the process."

Talking about their performance in the first set, Ji admitted that the mental difference between the two pairs caused her mental imbalance. She said, "As we are No.1 seed, every one is targeting us and wants to beat us, we feel as if we were public enemies. As a matter of fact, the top pairs are close in strength. Some matches are bound to be tight. In this match we managed to make some adjustments in the second and third sets so as to reverse the situation."

Looking into the following matches, Ji expressed that they should try to avoid all the problems arisen early to reduce errors as many as possible and give full play to their strength.
