The semiquarter finals of the 2007 FIVB Beach Volleyball Women's Challenger started at 9:00 a.m. August 16. The Chinese pair Guo Qian/Shen Rongrong met the Canadian pair Anouk Boileau/Marie-Christine Mondor in the fourth match. The Canadian pair lost the match 2:1 with the score as 19-21, 21-17 and 15-10 after having been affected by an injury in the second set in the favorable situation of winning the first set.

The Chinese pair was extremely excited to have entered the quarterfinals with the victory. Shen said, "Our performance was not bad, we basically brought our strength into full play."

When being asked whether they reversed the situation due to the injury of their opponents, the Chinese pair did not think so. Guo said, "Actually, our own performance was decisive, we had gained some understanding of them from watching a match of theirs before and thus felt we could beat them with our own strength."

After entering the quarterfinals, this pair will face greater challenges and must improve some existing problems. Guo said, "The top priority is to reduce our errors, you know, we have been unstable before and shall improve in this aspect in the future."
