The quarterfinals of the 2007 FIVB Beach Volleyball Women's Challenger opened on August 17. The first match was between Swiss pair Sarah Schmocker/Isabelle Forrer and the Chinese pair Shen Rongrong/Guoqian, as a result, the former beat the latter in two straight sets with the scores of 2-15 and 21-19.

The defeat sent the Chinese pair out of the challenge, but the pair were satisfied with their performance in the match and admitted that the Swiss pair was stronger than them indeed. Shen said, "They are strong indeed and more experienced than us. We could not adapt to their attack at the beginning and are weaker than them in seizing chances throughout the match."

Despite the elimination, the Chinese pair still expressed that they had gained a lot from the challenger. Shen said, "We are well-tempered through the challenger and have drawn much experience, there are a lot of strong pairs in the challenger, which is of great value to us."
