Yue/Zhan: hope to do the best in the final
In the second semifinals of the 2007 FIVB Beach Volleyball Women's Challenger at the Chaoyang Park this morning, Chinese duo Zhang Wenwen/Yue Yuan won Swiss pair Sarah Schmocker/Isabelle Forrer 2:1. The scores of the three sets were 21-16, 18-21 and 17-15.
The Chinese pair kept calm after the game. Although they have defeated the Swiss pair who were expected to be the champion, they believed their performance were in normal. In the interview after the match, Yue Yuan said, “ My physical strength was not so perfect today, so I felt a little bit difficult in the second set in which we lost. We performed in our normal level.”
Zhang Wenwen/Yue Yuan are the only Chinese pair in the top-4, and shouldered the expectation of the spectators. Commenting on this situation, Zhang Wenwen said, “Actually, we were out of pressure since the lost to Malaysian pair in the first match of the tourney. We just tried our best. Today's performance was in normal, and we were a little tired in the second set.”
Talking about their goal in the final tomorrow, Zhang Wenwen said they would try their best.
