Chinese pair Yue Yuan/Zhang Wenwen was defeated by Brazilian pair Angela Vieira/ Danielle Vivan 0:2 in the final of the 2007 FIVB Beach Volleyball Women’s Challenger played in the morning and finished the tournament as the runner-up. After the match, Yue Yuan/Zhang Wenwen gave an interview.

Talking about the performance, they said, “Brazilian team is very strong. Today we basically played out our normal level.”

After losing the first set, Yue Yuan/Zhang Wenwen didn’t give up. The score came to 20-17, but the Brazilian pair served four straight aces and outscored 21-20. so Yue Yuan/Zhang Wenwen finlly lost the game 21-23.

Yue and Zhang said, “We played very well at the beginning in the second set. But we didn’t deal well with the following shots. The comprehensive strength of Brazilian team is very strong.”

The Chinese pair expressed their satisfaction to winning the runner-up. After the 7-day’s competition, Yue and Zhang won five consecutive games after losing the first game, so they accessed to challenge the Brazilian pair in the final. Yue and Zhang noted, “We have a good mentality. After we defeated by Malaysian duo on the first day, we adjusted our mentality and went all out to play. We are very satisfied with winning the second place.”
